First Lady Bryant's passion is the preservation of the Mississippi Governor's Mansion, the second oldest consecutively occupied governor's residence in the United States. Mrs. Bryant is committed to maintaining the opulence and dignity of the Mansion, which has been designated a National Historic Landmark by the Department of the Interior.
Mrs. Bryant oversees the daily operation of the Mansion and also participates in the free tours of the home to individuals or school groups. She enjoys educating guests about the Mansion's fascinating history, including its use by Union soldiers during the Civil War, and about the unique furnishings throughout the house. Built in 1841, the Mansion has seen several major renovations, and Mrs. Bryant is dedicated to the preservation of this home that is considered to be one of the finest examples of Greek Revival architecture in the country today.Learn more about the Mansion
